Birth Doula Support
From Birth to First Feed
Having trained with the Mindful Breastfeeding School, I am an experienced, calm and knowledgeable birth doula with a specific focus on breastfeeding. The antenatal preparation I do with the parents I support, ensures that from birth to breastfeeding, the transition is as smooth as possible. Giving birth and beginning to feed are deeply connected moments. How you are cared for in labour and straight after often shapes those first few feeds and I support you with both.
Having a second birth partner is an exciting addition to your birth team. As your doula, my role is to work closely with you both during your pregnancy and to go on to create a space that feels right for you during the birth of your baby. I will help you to stay grounded, ensure your wishes are fully supported, and create a space that feels special. A space where you can confidently welcome your baby into the world while being cared for.
I intentionally limit the number of families I support to just one birth per month so that during your due month, my presence is centred fully on you and your partner. No divided focus. No competing commitments. Just calm, attentive care designed around your babys arrival. This means, you can move through the final weeks of your pregnancy and into labour with a deep sense of reassurance, knowing that when you need me, I am there.
Your birth is an intimate, transformative moment. You deserve devoted, unhurried attention, centred on you and your partner.
Alexandra Mother to Simone - Google Review
“As soon as Claire joined us I felt so relaxed and at ease. Claire was able to make a plan with the midwives to help my labour move forward, she did this by positioning me in a way which moved my labour on almost instantly!’’
Why Choose My Support?
My energy is calm and gentle but incredibly strong at the same time. I am a mother of two girls with 8 years birth doula experience. I spend most of my time at North Middlesex and Barnet Hospital along with home births.
I will ensure you are feeling calm during pregnancy, in control during labour and fully aware of how your labour is progressing as we move through together. I ensure you are both cared for in the best way the entire time I am with you. I won’t be confrontational in the birth room as we are all a team and we wont be bringing difficult energy into the space you will be giving birth. This is not my personality and advocacy can be done with respect and kindness to keep the space calm and peaceful.
You are not just hiring a doula you are gaining an experienced private perinatal professional, who will, no doubt turn into a trusted friend.
You can book a free, no-obligation connection call with me today.

Zachary’s birth, review by Cassandra & Harry.
‘At the birth, Claire was fantastic. She worked brilliantly alongside the midwives at the birth centre and with my partner throughout, and ensured that I was fully informed about my options every step of the way. I felt the hardest hour of my labour was when Claire went out of the room just to get some necessary refreshments - so comforting was her presence to me.

Support Packages
Your birth journey doesn't end when your baby arrives, it is just beginning. My Birth & First Feeds package includes full birth support plus a dedicated home visit in the first week to establish breastfeeding together.
From Birth to First Feed - £2,800.00
This package brings together two forms of guidance and support that belong together: birth and feeding. As your birth doula, I’m there through your pregnancy through to labour and birth, helping you prepare for the experience you want. Once your baby is here, I return in the early days to support your first breastfeeds, guide you recognise cues, and guide you gently through any challenges that arise. We will look at your comfort, your babys attachment at the breast and go over in detail positions to suit you and your body post birth.
You’ll have continuity from me who will already know your birth story, meaning our work together will flow naturally through these early transitions making it calmer and more supportive for you all. I see the very best outcomes with breastfeeding with this support, it is a game changer for parents.

Lette Watson - Mother to Robyn
“At the intense times, Claire was there to wipe away my tears and reassure me. The massage, pressure and emotional support meant I felt more in control. Using the specific breathing Claire had taught me, i felt strong and knew i was going to meet my baby soon!’’
Lette gave birth to beautiful baby Robyn at home in a birth pool supported by me, her partner, Pete and the local home birth team from North Middlesex. It was an honour to be with them throughout pregnancy, birth and to be a small but important part of their journey to being a family of four.
You can read Lette’s birth story here on the blog.

The benefits of continuous support during labour and birth and the support of birth partners were highlighted in an updated 2019 Cochrane review, which analysed data from 26 studies across 17 countries involving more than 15,000 women. The outcomes below were observed for parents who were given continuous support from a doula or a second close labour companion.
● More likely to have a vaginal birth (without the need for caesarean, forceps or vacuum extraction)
● Less likely to use pain medications
● More likely to have shorter labours
● More likely to be satisfied with their birth and postnatal experience
● The babies may be less likely to have low five-minute Apgar scores, which assess babies’ health and well-being at birth and shortly afterward
● Increased equity directly through improved women’s empowerment and provision of culturally responsive care, and indirectly by reducing the over-medicalisation of childbirth
● Increased likelihood of initiating and establishing breastfeeding
A difficult labour, lack of support, an unplanned caesarean section or emergency treatment for the mother/birth parent or baby can all contribute to the risk of experiencing trauma. Doula support can therefore reduce the risk of experiencing perinatal trauma.
